GAMES YOUR CHAT PLAYS
Games like Marbles on Stream and Stream Racer, where viewers join from chat and play on your stream: what they are, how Subspace Brawl compares, and how to start one tonight.
A chat game (also called a Twitch chat game or an interactive stream game) runs on the streamer's PC and shows on stream, and the viewers are the players. Nobody needs a download, an account or a controller: a viewer types a command like !join and they are in. The whole chat can play at once, so a chat game works for a channel of any size.
The best-known ones are races: in Marbles on Stream viewers drop marbles into a race, and in Stream Racer they race each other. Subspace Brawl takes the same idea into a space battle: every viewer who joins gets a ship, the ships fight on your stream, and chat keeps playing all round by firing missiles, raising shields and dropping mines.

What each part of a chat game looks like in Subspace Brawl.
Marbles on Stream and Stream Racer are separate games by their own makers; see their own pages for what they offer today. Many streamers rotate several chat games.
FROM TWO VIEWERS TO TWO HUNDRED
SMALL STREAMERS
Bots fill the lobby at four skill levels, and friends' Twitch accounts can fly as named bots, so two viewers still get a full battle. It costs nothing to try.
BIG CHATS
Everyone can join at once: built and tested for hundreds of ships. The lobby shows every pilot, and one click on the kill list follows any of them.
VERTICAL STREAMS
A portrait 1080×1312 view with its own HUD layout, synced with the landscape one.
TINKERERS
In the Windows app: your own scripts on channel points or chat commands, a REST API, a live event stream and an MCP server.

QUESTIONS
What are Twitch chat games?
Games that run on the streamer's PC and show on stream, where viewers play by typing in chat instead of with a controller. Viewers join with a command such as !join or !play, and the whole chat can play at once. Marbles on Stream, Stream Racer and Subspace Brawl are examples.
What are some games like Marbles on Stream?
Look for games where viewers join from chat with a command. Stream Racer is a racing game played that way, and Subspace Brawl is a space battle: viewers type !join, their ships fight on stream, and chat fires missiles, shields and mines during the round.
Is Subspace Brawl like Stream Racer?
Both put your viewers into a game on stream from chat. Subspace Brawl is a battle rather than a race: team deathmatch, free-for-all and boss fights, with kills, lives and team bases, and chat commands, cheers and channel point redeems that change the fight while it runs.
What games can my chat play on stream for free?
Subspace Brawl is free while in beta, on Windows or in the browser at https://play.subspacebrawl.com, and free for viewers: they only type in chat. Bits and channel points are optional extras.
What is a good chat game for a small stream?
One that is fun with two viewers and with two hundred. In Subspace Brawl bots fill the lobby at four skill levels (or add your friends' Twitch accounts as named bots), so even a quiet chat gets a full battle, and every viewer who joins takes part right away.
Do viewers need to download anything?
No. Viewers only type in chat. The streamer runs the game (the Windows app or a browser tab) and adds its overlay to OBS as a browser source.
Does it work with YouTube or vertical streams?
The Windows app reads YouTube live chat too, at the same time as Twitch. The overlay has a vertical 1080×1312 view beside the 1920×1080 one, and both show the same fight.
